Nad and Tad’s Excellent Ball-Venture

Nad and Tad Prepare to Grab Testicular Cancer Awareness By the Balls

I get a lot of emails about testicular cancer, and luckily I’ve never been sent a direct picture of testicles… Until this past week.

However, this was not as traumatic experience as that previous sentence portrays. Rather than being on the receiving end of a “Sack Snap,” these testicles are an adorable, animated pair by the name Nad and Tad. Upon finding out a little bit more about their purpose and that they were brought to life by the animators behind Wallace and Gromit, I asked them if I could interview them to learn more. They sacked up to share their story here on ABSOT.

ABSOT: So tell us – how did you come to be?

Nad: Biology, man.

Tad: You can thank the folks at The Testicular Cancer Foundation. They brought us to life for Testicular Cancer Awareness Month.

ABSOT: What’s your mission here, boys?

Tad: To help guys, especially those 15-34, understand that testicular cancer is more common than they think. And that monthly self-exams are an easy way to check for it.

ABSOT: What’s been the best part of your journey so far?

Nad: Knowing more guys are grabbing their balls.

Tad: And are getting comfortable talking about testicular cancer.

ABSOT: What was it like working with the visionary behind Chicken Run and Wallace and Gromit?

Nad & Tad: Awesome.

ABSOT: Nad, what’s the one thing you want all men to know?

Nad: It’s time we start showing our balls a little love.

ABSOT: Tad, what’s your number one bit of advice?

Tad: Take a couple of minutes each month to check your testes. It’s easy and it could save your life.

ABSOT: Let’s throw in a curveball here. If you had to write a Tinder profile for the other, what would it say?

Tad: I’m the kind of testicle you can take home to meet the folks.

Nad: I come as a pair. Double your pleasure, double your fun. I/We also have a serious side.

ABSOT: What’s next on the docket for you? Maybe a full-length feature film?

Nad: We’re open to it.

Tad: We’re going to keep spreading the good word. Just like you, Justin.

ABSOT: Daw, you’re so sweet. This makes two interviews in a row where my interviewees say something nice. For the record, I did not pay Nad, Tad, or Nathan Adrian to say these kind words.

But I digress. For each of you, what superhero would you most identify with? Can we expect a cameo in Avengers: Endgame?

Nad: Ant Man. Small, but powerful.

Tad: I guess you’ll just have to see the movie to find out.

ABSOT: Oh trust me, I already have my tickets. Last question – Where can we find you?

Nad: You can check out our videos at NadandTad.com, and follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Tad: And if you haven’t, be sure to Nad & Tad-ify yourself on Snapchat.

ABSOT: Gentlemen, thank you for your time today. It’s been an amaze-ball(s) interview.
